GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - After seven straight games at Walker Field the Mavericks are taking their 5-1 record to Ohio for a three game stretch which will spread over five days. This trip falls on Colorado Mesa's spring break as well. The Mavericks first game will be against Tiffin University on March 18th at 4 pm MT in Tiffin, Ohio. Following that the Mavericks will travel to Findlay, Ohio for games against University of Findlay and Ursuline College. The Mavericks will take on Findlay March 20th at 2 pm MT before facing Ursuline College in a neutral site game at the campus of University of Findlay. That final game of the road trip will take place on Friday March 22 at 1 pm.
A Look at the Mavs
Led by two of the best lacrosse players to wear a Maverick jersey Olivia Hayden and Erin Koehler have help the Mavericks to a 5-1 record. Hayden leads the team with 24 goals and 34 ground balls along with her 60 draw controls for the season. The three-time RMAC defensive player of the week Koehler has grabbed 32 ground balls which is second behind Hayden and leads the team in caused turnovers at 29.
Another threat in the Maverick's offensive is Paige Elliot who has totaled 32 assists on the season. She is averaging 5.33 which currently leads the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Mavericks have totaled 71 assists on 107 goals this season.
Lula Mitchell who stands in the net for the Mavericks is second in the RMAC for goals against average with 8.00. She has totaled 23 saves this season which leads the team.
Scouting Tiffin
The Tiffin women's lacrosse team has a 4-3 record so far this season and are just coming off an 18-6 loss given to them by RMAC foe Regis University. In their seven game season the Dragons have registered 64 goals and 25 assists. Leading them in goals is #20 Elle Hamilton who has a team high 27 on the season. She also leads the team in ground ball (22), draw controls (41), and caused turnovers (6).
Scouting Findlay
The Oilers of Findlay are also coming off a loss to Regis University which was played on March 14th. They fell 17-13 in that game which was played on their home field. In their eight games this season they Oilers have won two and lost six. There two losses have come recently as they are on a two game losing streak heading into their game against the Mavericks which will be played Wednesday March 20th. #29 Ciara Burus leads the way for them and has totaled 21 goals this season while assisting on four others. The Oilers have totaled 88 caused turnovers this season.
Scouting Ursuline
The Arrows of Pepper Pike, Ohio have only played four game this season and will play one more against Notre Dame College this Wednesday before facing Colorado Mesa on Friday March 22nd at a neutral site game at the campus of Findlay.
The Arrows are 1-3 so far and their one win comes from a 12-11 overtime victory over Ohio Northern University. Last season they ended with a 7-11 record and are a program that only has one winning season in the past five years which dates back to their 2016 season.
They are led by #2 Michaela Riley who has nine goals and five assists so far this season. Their leading defensemen #88 Emma Barnes has 12 ground balls to lead the Arrows.

After completing this spring break trip the Mavericks will return to RMAC play against UCCS on March 29th at 5 pm in Colorado Springs.
