Mavs fall to No. 11 Cougars

AZUSA, Calif.— The nation's 11th-ranked Azusa Pacific University Cougars claimed a 7-0 win over the Colorado Mesa University Men's Tennis team on Saturday afternoon here at the Munson & Bavougian Tennis Courts. 

The Cougars improved to 13-1 with the win while the Mavericks fell to 2-10.

The Cougars swept the doubles matches although William Agritelley and Max Lindqvist battled before eventually dropping a close No. 2 match by a 7-5 score.

In singles, Christian Albrechtsen split 7-5 sets at No. 5 singles before falling in an extended tiebreaker.

The Mavericks also received an exhibition doubles win from Steven Howe and Mitch Steadman, who defeated Ian Lee and Nicholas Lee, 7-5.

CMU continues a 4-match trip in California on Sunday facing Holy Names in a neutral-site encounter in Fresno.
