nd, the Colorado Mesa football team will face the Trailblazers of Dixie State University. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup will take place at 1pm at Trailblazer Stadium in St George, Utah.

Heading into this weekend's contest, the Mavericks are 4-4 overall and 4-3 in RMAC play. The opposing trailblazers are 6-2 this season overall and 5-2 in conference play. Dixie State's only two losses of the season were on their own turf against two RMAC opponents, CSU-Pueblo (36-7) and Chadron State (40-27).

The Opponent
Dixie State comes with threats on both sides of the ball. The opponent averages 34.38 points per game, with more than 275 points on the year so far. Despite having to make some changes at the quarterback position after losing their starter, the trailblazers have accounted for more than 3,490 yards of total offense. Of the teams near 3,500 yards of offense, 2,320 yards were through the air, and 1,164 were on the ground.

The Dixie State defense has 32 sacks on the year for a loss of 191 yards. Nine and a half of the team's 32 sacks came by redshirt sophomore, Dylan Hendrickson for a loss of 58 yards. Hendrickson joins the Mavericks'

Last Week
Last week the Colorado Mesa football team dominated in an RMAC conference matchup against Black Hills State University. The Mavericks managed to score on the first play of the game on a 99-yard kickoff return that resulted in a touch down by freshman,
Justin White. The Mavericks' explosive start to the game helped them to secure their 58-21 win over the yellow jackets. White's big return and a blocked punt later in the first quarter resulted in him being named the RMAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Mavs in the Classroom
The Mavericks have been impressive both on and off the field this year. In addition to White claiming the RMAC Special Teams Player of The Week honors, the Mavericks also had 24 players make the RMAC All-Academic team, including Newton, who was dubbed the RMAC Defensive Academic Player of The Year. Of the 24 Mavericks who earned recognition for their academics were two players who have maintained a 4.0 overall grade point average,
Dylan Tait and
Cade Mendenhall.

RMAC Update
The Colorado School of Mines football team remains the only undefeated team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, this season and is likely to claim the conference title. Following Mine's in the RMAC standings is CSU-Pueblo at No. 2, then Dixie State at No. 3, Colorado Mesa at No. 4, and Western Sate at No. 5.

th, against Adams State University that will take place at 1pm at Rex Stadium in Alamosa, Colorado. Then the Mavericks will finish out their season back at Ralph Stocker stadium on November 16
th against New Mexico Highlands University
