TOURNEY PLACINGS
Sierra Brown Ton and Carson Pipher continue to excel in tournaments this season with each placing at the Oregon Classic last weekend. Brown Ton placed sixth at the Oregon Classic at 130 pounds after going 2-3 in the tournament. The Allen, Texas native defeated a pair of Menlo wrestlers to reach the placement round before bowing out to Macy Higa from Eastern Oregon, moving her overall record to 17-10 on the season.

Pipher upped her record to 18-7 on the season after a third-place finish at the Oregon Classic. The Paonia native's lone loss in the tournament came to No. 3 ranked Solin Piearcy of Menlo in the semifinals at 136 pounds. Pipher came back and earned a tech fall over No. 10 ranked Jenna Awana of Providence 10-0. It is the third straight tournament placing for Pipher.

Freshman 155 pounder Alma Mendoza leads the Mavericks in pins this year with 11. The Sequim, Wash. native's last three wins have come via the pin with one coming at the Oregon Classic last weekend with another coming in the dual match win against Lindenwood.
