Men's Lacrosse Comes Home For Two Games

Still riding the momentum, they gained with their win over No. 3 Lenoir-Rhyne University (LRU), Colorado Mesa University plays their first two home games this week. The first comes against RMAC opponent Rockhurst University (RU) on Tuesday, followed up by Maryville University (MU) on Thursday.

CMU is currently 3-0 on the season due in large part to their offense averaging 17 goals per game. Their offense is led by Calen Ketcham, who leads the team with 12 points, and Jack Griffin, who has a team high nine goals.

The Mavericks defense has also been playing on a high level so far this season. They are giving up a mere seven goals to their opponents. Their goalies have been a big reason for this. Remi Reeves is coming off winning the RMAC defensive player of the week for his work in goal against LRU, where he finished with 21 saves.

That combined with the team winning 67 percent of their face-offs, giving the Mavericks more opportunities on the offensive end.

As for the Hawks, they too have gotten off to a good start this season, winning their first five games. They are led by Sam Lindahl who has 14 goals and seven assists in his five games. As a team RU has outscored their opponents by 60 goals (94-34) in five games. That is an average of 12 more goals scored per game than their opponents.

The Saints haven't had as good an opening to their season as the Mavericks and Hawks though. They are 3-4 to open up the season and have yet to win a game away from their home field. They are led by Tristan Snellgrove, who has 16 points to lead his team. Goalie William DeVinney has been in goal for all but 20 minutes for the Saints and has a team high 60 saves.

Both games are set for 7 p.m. start times at Walker Field.
