Colorado Mesa University comes home for only the second time this weekend after ending their five-game road test with a 4-1 record. They are coming off their lone loss of the season to No. 3 Lindenwood last weekend and will play host to CSU-Pueblo on Sunday.

So far, the Mavericks are having one of the best starts to their season. They are outscoring their opponents by an average of six goals per game (15-9) and have scored under 10 goals only once this season (nine to Lindenwood).

Currently, the Mavericks have the second best overall record in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) with a winning percentage of 83. They are second only to Lindenwood who is still undefeated on the year. However, CMU is tied for fourth place with Westminster due to conference records (CMU is 2-1).

The team is being led by the offensive onslaught of
Lindsi Peters (25 points),
Olivia Hayden (21 points) and
Jessica Cook (20 points). Peters is currently tied for fifth in the conference in points per game, while Hayden and Cook are both in the top seven for goals scored per game.

The Thunderwolves on the other had are at the bottom of the standings. They currently hold an 0-3 conference record and are just 1-4 on the season. Their lone win came in their home opener against Fort Lewis, where they won 14-11. Since then the team has lost four in a row including a 22-11 loss at Regis in their last game. Leah Neumann leads the team in goals with 10 and is tied for points with 12 on the year.

Last season the Mavericks won both matchup with the Thunderwolves by a combined score of 38-15. CMU has won each of the last six meetings, dating back to 2015 against CSU-Pueblo.
