CMU Looks to Remain Hot with Three Games in Florida

After their thrilling 10-9 come from behind victory over No. 3 University of Tampa, Colorado Mesa University is looking to keep their winning high going into this week with three games down in Florida. The matchups include Rollins College (RC) on Tuesday, Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBAU) on Wednesday and Florida Southern College (FSC) on Saturday.

With their triumphant win the Mavericks come into the week with a 6-0 record, including two wins against top five ranked teams in the country. An 85 percent successful clear rate and a 63 percent shots on goal rate are two big reasons as to why this is team has been so successful thus far. Their offense is taking advantage of the opportunities that they are given, and they aren't turning the ball over inside their own zone.

Individually the team is being led by the three-headed monster known as Calen Ketcham, Jack Griffin and Reece Callies. The trio has combined for 47 goals, 20 assists and 67 points thus far on the year. Additionally, Remi Reeves has been stellar in goal as of late, compiling four wins in four starts and 50 saves to only 25 goals allowed.

As for RC, they come into Tuesday's game winless on the season. Having only played three games, the Tars have only been able to muster up 17 goals on the year. Six of which have come from Jeremy Slocumb, who has double up the next closest teammate. When these two teams met last season around this time, RC was ranked No. 20 in the nation when the Mavericks took them down 13-9. That was thanks to hat tricks from Steve Brandenburg and Ketcham.

PBAU has had struggles on the road thus far, going 0-3, but has been able to muster up two wins at home to help get their overall record to 3-5 on the year. They will come into Wednesday's matchup having won their last game over Emmanuel 14-9. The team is led by Trevor Keena who has 13 goals and one assist to his name.

And finally, FSC comes into the week with a 3-3 record overall, including a 25-2 win over Emmanuel. Lucas Claude and Kevin Dyer have combined for 24 goals and 11 assists to lead their squad this season. Last season, the Mavericks were able to win this matchup 10-9 while in Lakeland, Fla. Jayden Campbell and Brandenburg both had hat tricks for CMU in the contest.

Following these three matchups, the Mavericks will then come home for two games against Westminster and Johnson & Wales University. Westminster will be the team's second RMAC matchup of the year.
