Mavericks and Grizzlies Collide

After narrowly defeating Fort Lewis at home in the team's season opener (17-16), Colorado Mesa University is on the road this weekend against Adams State University (ASU). This will be the first of two meetings between these two teams this season, with the second counting towards both team's conference record.

The Mavericks are coming off of a high scoring affair where Olivia Hayden and Lindsi Peters combined for 12 of CMU's 17 goals. Hayden scored seven of her own, which tied the most in a game for one player from last season. CMU finished with 30 shots in the game, with 21 of them coming on goal.

Now the Mavericks will be taking on the Grizzlies, who have yet to play a game this season. ASU finished with only two wins last season and lost both contests to the Mavericks. CMU dominated the series matchup winning both games by a combined score of 36-4.

Both Peters and Hayden scored eight goals in the two games against ASU last season, which was the most on the team. CMU outshot the Grizzlies 60-12 in the both games combined.

The matchup is set to take place at 12 p.m. on Saturday down in Alamosa, Colo.
