GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa men's tennis team closed out the fall season with a 6-1 win over Colorado College as weather forced the dual inside and took place at the Junction Indoor Tennis Center.
The Mavericks picked up the point for doubles as they took the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches.
Alain De La Bastide and
Lucas Martin earned the 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles while
Max Lindqvist and
Steven Howe picked up the 7-6 (4) win at No. 3 doubles.
Colorado Mesa won five of the six singles matches with all six matches being decided in straight sets.
Max Lindqvist earned a 7-5, 7-6 (9) win at No. 1 singles over Noah Forman of Colorado College while
Lucas Martin picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win over Danny Holland at No. 3.
De La Bastide defeated Logan Pepperl 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 and
Steven Howe was a 6-2, 6-3 winner over Christian Kitchen at No. 6.
Will Agritelley may have had the most dominant win at No. 5 singles with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Alex Kley.
The men's team finished the fall with a 2-1 record.
NOTE: The women's matches with Colorado College were cancelled due to not enough healthy players.
