Doubletree Soccer Showcase:
This is the second year of the Doubletree Soccer Showcase happening at CMU. Last season in the Maverick's two games the team finished 1-0-1, outscoring their opponents 5-1 in the two matchups.

Lubbock last season:
Last season, LCU finished the year 5-11-2 overall. That record was good enough for 4^th place in the west division of the Heartland Conference. The team also finished with a 3-8 record away from home.

Non-conference opponents:
The Mavericks finished 2-2-3 against non-conference opponents last season, which included the team going undefeated at home but winless on the road.

Home sweet home:
CMU opens up their 2017 season with 6 straight home games, 4 of which are against out of conference opponents. Last season the Mavericks were undefeated on their home pitch, finishing the year with a 9-0-2 record.

Nationally ranked:
The Mavericks open up the season ranked inside the nation's top 25 teams, with a ranking of 16. They are one of only two RMAC teams ranked inside the top 25 to open up the season.
