Mavericks Open Season Against Humboldt State

Mavericks on top:
In last season's matchup between the Mavericks and the Jacks, the Mavericks came away with the 2-0 victory thanks to two second half goals from Alexis Allard and Amanda Wenzel. CMU's offense was clicking as they outshot Humboldt 16-5 during the contest.

Non-conference opponents:
The Mavericks finished 2-3-1 in their 6 out of conference matchups last season. The team will play another 6 non-conference games to start their 2017 season.

Moving up the ladder:
CMU finished last season 9-7-2, 7-4-1 in the RMAC, which was their first winning season under head coach Jason Clare. It was also the team's first winning record since 2012.

Returning Mavs:
CMU returns their top 3 point getters from last season. Allard and Wenzel finished with 10 points apiece while Mackenzie King was right behind with 6. The three combined for 12 of the teams' 20 goals last season.

Finish Finish Finish:
Last season the Mavericks outshot their opponents 245-154 during the season, including 111 shots on goal. However, the team only managed to score 20 goals over their 18 games.
