GOLDEN, COLO. - The Colorado Mesa University men's and women's tennis teams each posted wins at Colorado Christian University Thursday (April 6).
The men won 8-1 and the women were victorious 6-3.
The men led 2-1 after doubles, and would sweep the singles matches.
No. 1 singles was the only one to go to three sets with
Cody Freischlag winning 7-5, 1-6, 6-2.
Max Lindqvist won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2, and
Lucas Martin won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.
Oliver Lindqvist,
Alain De La Bastide and
Daniel Ness each won at No. 4 (6-0, 6-1), No. 5 (6-2, 6-2) and No. 6 (6-1, 6-1).
In the women's match, CMU led 2-1 after doubles with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Katie and
Kristen Kirby won 8-3 at No. 1, and
Emily Beckley and
Taylor Hershey won 8-2 at No. 2.
The Mavericks earned wins at No. 2, 4, 5 and 6 singles.
Emily Beckley won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2, and
Taylor Hershey won in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4.
Nicole Kitsuse won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5, and
Georgia Hansen won 6-4, 7-6 (2) at No. 6.
Colorado Mesa will play at CSU-Pueblo Friday (April 6).
