Mavericks Move to 3-0 after Big Win

Box Score LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – Steve Brandenburg scored five goals in a 20-5 win for No. 20 Colorado Mesa over the University of Saint Mary, the No. 9 ranked team in NAIA on Thursday afternoon to start a three-match road swing.
 
Brandenburg, now just two goals short of the century mark for his career, paced the Mavericks on the scoring end for the second time this season with five goals.
 
Freshman Joe Wulforst enjoyed his first stint at extended minutes, notching his first collegiate goal and his first hat trick.
 
Junior Reece Callies also ended the game with a hat trick.
 
Sophomore net minder Remi Reeves improved to 3-0 on the season after allowing just two goals in 30 minutes of action.
 
The Mavericks will be back in action tomorrow when they take on Rockhurst in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action at 3pm.
