Colorado Mesa will open up Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play this weekend with two games in Kansas City following a non-conference matchup against NAIA University of Saint Mary.

Colorado Mesa was picked to win the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference for the second straight season. The Mavericks claimed the inaugural title last season, defeating Westminster in the RMAC Championship match.Â
PRESEASON PICKS
Sophomore
Jack Griffin was named the preseason midfielder of the year by the RMAC coaches. Griffin was joined on the preseason team by
Brady George who was named the preseason defensive player of the year.

Jordan Eason,
Calen Ketcham and
Steve Brandenburg were all named to the preseason team. Brandenburg was also named a Preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse Magazine.
HALFTIME LEADER
The Mavericks are 12-1 over the past two seasons when they take a lead into halftime. They led 18-1 against Notre Dame de Namur and a 3-0 lead against Whittier.
CANADIAN LEAGUE DRAFT PICK
Colorado Mesa's
Reece Callies was selected in the first round (4th Overall) by the Langley Thunder in the Western Lacrosse Association. The WLA is a Senior A Canadian Box League.

Senior
Steve Brandenburg has totaled 93 goals in his career and is looking to become the first 100 goal scorer in Colorado Mesa history.Â
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Sophomore
Remi Reeves has drawn the start in the first two matches for the Mavericks but two other goalies played in the big win over Notre Dame de Namur. Reeves leads the trio with 16 saves and earned the win in both matches. The Telford, Pa. native has faced 40 shots thus far and has a goals against average of 5.33.
