8-0 START: Colorado Mesa is off to a great start this season, jumping out to a 8-0 record through their first eight games. The last time the Mavericks started 8-0 was during the 2013-14 season where they reached the South Central Region Championship Game, losing to West Texas A&M 59-56. 

POINTS IN THE PAINT: Colorado Mesa has made a living in the paint this year, scoring nearly 38 percent of their total points in the paint. They have scored at least 24 points in the paint in seven of their eight games. 

FIVE FRESHMAN: Late in games, Colorado Mesa has run out a lineup of five freshman to finish out games. The five have played 8:15 of court time together and have gained valuable experience as a unit.

RANKINGS: The Mavericks are receiving votes in the WBCA National Poll this week, garnering 19 points.

HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT: Colorado Mesa and Fort Lewis will square off on Friday night in a matchup of early RMAC favorites. The Mavericks enter 8-0 and 2-0 in the conference with Fort Lewis coming in 7-1, 1-1 in the RMAC after falling to CSU-Pueblo last week.  

HISTORY WITH ADAMS STATE: Head Coach Taylor Wagner has never lost to Adams State winning all nine matchups withe the Grizzlies.
