Home Opener this Weekend for Women's Hoops

? 4-0 START: Colorado Mesa is off to a great start this season, jumping out to a 4-0 record through their first four games. The last time the Mavericks started 4-0 was during the 2013-14 season where they reached the South Central Region Championship Game, losing to West Texas A&M 59-56.

? HOME COOKIN': Brownson Arena is a true home court advantage for the women's basketball team during head coach Taylor Wagner's tenure. The Mavericks have won 93 percent (67-5) of their home games with Wagner at the helm.

? HITTING THE BOARDS: One of Coach Wagner's keys to success in any game is winning the rebounding battle. Colorado Mesa is +9.0 on rebounding margin through the first four games. Three players are tied for the team lead with 25 total rebounds (Epenisa, Reichle, K. Brandon).

? IN THE PAINT: Colorado Mesa has had a huge advantage in every game down low in the paint. The Mavericks are averaging 27.5 points in the paint compared to 17 by their opponents.

? HALT THE HILLTOPPERS: This is the first meeting between St. Edward's and Colorado Mesa.

? GROUND THE EAGLES: Colorado Mesa and Northern New Mexico have met two previous times in history. The Mavericks are 2-0 in those games with an average winning margin of 49.0.
