PUEBLO, COLO. – The Colorado Mesa University men's tennis team started the season 2-0 after posting wins over UT-Permian Basin (6-3) and Colorado College (8-1) Friday (Sept. 9).
The Mavs won two-of-three doubles matches against the Falcons.
Ben Schlichting and
Nicholas Farmen won 8-0 at No. 2, and
William Agritelley and
Lucas Martin won 8-4 at No. 3.
UTPB took wins at No. 1 and 2 singles, but CMU took the other four for the win.
Max Lindqvist won at No. 3 (6-4, 6-0), and
Alain De La Bastide rallied to win at No. 4 (3-6, 6-0, 11-9).
William Agritelley need a long three sets to win at No. 5 (6-3, 5-7, 12-10), and
Lucas Martin also won in three at No. 6 (6-1, 4-6, 10-7).
CMU jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after doubles against CC.
The Mavs would win five-of-six singles matches with the lone loss coming at No. 5.
Cody Freischlag earned his first career win at No. 1 defeating Noah Forman 6-4, 1-6, 10-2.
Colorado Mesa will face Neb.-Kearney Saturday (Sept. 9). Â
