th-ranked Colorado Mesa men's lacrosse fought tooth and nail for a 9-6 RMAC tournament semi-final win Friday (May 6) against Adams State. The top-seeded Mavericks improved to 12-4 on the season.
Colorado Mesa dominated the first half as they put up five goals and held ASU to only two.
Adams State made a push in the fourth after trading goals in the third to bring the score to within two goals. The Grizzlies outshot the Mavericks 11-3 and possessed the ball for nearly 12 minutes in the third quarter.
Colorado Mesa would hold on for the win scoring two goals of the game.
Shots favored the Grizzlies as they outshot the Mavericks 32-35.
Ground balls favored the Mavericks as they out scooped the Grizzlies 25-21.
Colorado Mesa dominated at face-offs winning 13-of-19.
Extra-man opportunities favored CMU as they scored on two of their three trips with the advantage.

Colorado Mesa will take on Westminster Saturday (May 7) In the RMAC Championship. The two teams split the regular season series each winning on the others home field.
