Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LAKEWOOD, COLO. – Makayla Kovac hit the 57^th homerun of her career against Colorado Christian to become the all-time career leader in homeruns in RMAC history Saturday (April 9).

Kovac's career record homerun led off the seventh inning. The run was part of a four-run inning for the Mavericks.

CMU opened the game with three runs in the first on two doubles, a single and two CCU errors.

The Mavs added another run in the third to earn the 8-0 shutout over the Cougars.

Mesa out-hit Christian 15-3 in the contest. Seven CMU players recorded a hit with six collecting more than one.

McKenzie Surface struck out four, walked one and allowed three hits in her 13^th win of the season.

Colorado Mesa defeated New Mexico Highlands 6-3 in the first game of the day.

The Mavs plated two runs in the first and another in the second to lead 3-0.

Highlands led off the third inning with a homerun and added an unearned run in the fifth to close the CMU lead to 3-2.

Mesa hit two doubles and a pair of singles and scored three runs in the fifth.

The Cowgirls scored one run in the top of the seventh.

Makayla Kovac went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Rochelle Talamantes struck out four and allowed two runs, one earned, for her eighth win of the season.

Colorado Mesa (28-7, 27-1) will face New Mexico Highlands and Colorado Christian Sunday (April 10).
