PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team finished second in the RMAC Tournament after falling to Western New Mexico 5-3 on Saturday (April 23).
The Mavericks started off the match strong by winning two of their doubles matches.
Frederikke Karst and
Emily Dodson defeated Ashley Newell and Gemma Goodland 8-1 at No. 1. The No 3 team of
Katie Metz and
Emily Beckley got the 8-6 win against Claudia Osuna and Tiffany Newell.
Western New Mexico bounced to win four of the singles matches.
Taylor Hershey came away with the lone win in singles for the Mavericks. She defeated Diamond Morrill 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6.
Colorado Mesa finished the season with an overall record of 16-13.
