PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa University men and women's tennis teams closed out their regular season with wins over Colorado Christian University on Thursday April 21. The men posted an 8-1 win and the women posted a 7-2 win.
 
On the men's side, Spencer Weinberg and Andres Garcia-Rojas got an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles while Lucas Martin and Max Lindqvist won 8-3 at No. 2. Daniel Ness and Cody Carlton finished the doubles sweep with an 8-5 win at No. 3.
 
In singles, Lucas Martin posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles against Chase Gebhart and Max Lindqvist won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 against David Horner.
 
Trevor Brown, Daniel Ness and Cody Carlton all won at No. 4-6.
 
On the women's team, they started off winning two of their doubles matches.
 
Emily Dodson and Emily Beckley won 8-3 against Katy Balli and Jennifer Perkins at No. 2 and Katie Metz and Taylor Hershey defeated Maria Aguirre and Taylor Westrom 9-7 at No. 3.
 
Katie Kirby got a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles for the Mavericks while Emily Beckley won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
 
Michelle Phillips, Taylor Hershey and Georgia Hansen all won at No. 4-6.
 
Colorado Mesa plays in the RMAC Tournament in Pueblo starting Friday April 22.
