HC Box ScoreCC Box ScoreCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa University men's tennis team swept a pair of matches on Saturday (April 2). They beat both Hastings College and Colorado College 9-0.
The Mavs started the day against Hastings by off sweeping the doubles.
The No. 1 team of
Spencer Weinberg and
Andres Garcia-Rojas got an 8-3 win.
Cody Freischlag and
Trevor Brown also won 8-3 at No. 2.
In singles,
Spencer Weinberg got a 6-4, 7-5 win over Mark Gueswell at No. 1, while
Andres Garcia-Rojas defeated Leland Dexter 6-2, 6-1.
Cody Freishlag fended off four match points to win 6-2, 5-7, 12-10 at No. 3.
Lucas Martin,
Max Lindqvist and
Trevor Brown all won at No. 4-6.
Against Colorado College,
Spencer Weinberg and
Andres Garcia-Rojas beat Daniel Holland and Jason Gutierrez 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Garcia-Rojas also posted a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles and Weinberg got the 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2.
Cody Freishlag and
Trevor Brown won at No. 2 doubles, and
Lucas Martin and Max Linqvist 3 doubles won with identical scores of 8-5.
Cody Freishlag and
Max Lindqvist then both won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 and 5 singles.
Lucas Martin posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 and
Trevor Brown took the win at No. 6 6-2, 6-1.
Colorado Mesa plays at home against Brigham Young University-Hawaii on April 6 at 2pm.
