SCS Box ScoreNWM Box ScoreGRAND ISLAND, Neb. – The Colorado Mesa University men's tennis team came out victorious against St. Cloud State 5-4, but fell to Northwestern Missouri State 8-1 on Friday March 4.
CMU won two of their doubles matches against St. Cloud State to start the day.
Trevor Brown and
Cody Freischlag got the 8-5 win over Nathanial Cherry and Jacob Cersosimo at No. 2.
Max Lindqvist and
Lucas Martin defeated Pau Martin Sole and Lucas Norbiato 8-5 at No. 3
Cody Freischlag,
Trevor Brown and
Max Lindqvist were also successful in singles play.
Cody Freischlag went to three sets but came out on top 4-6, 7-6 (1), 7-5 at No. 3.
Max Lindqvist also went to three sets and won 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-2 at No. 5 and
Trevor Brown got the 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6.
CMU's lone win against Northwestern Missouri State was in doubles.
Spencer Weinburg and
Andres Garcia-Rojas beat Sergi Fontcuberta and Alvaro Riveros 8-6.
Colorado Mesa will begin their spring break matches on March 13 when they travel to Wichita Falls, Texas to take on Midwestern State.
