Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado Mesa men's lacrosse cruised past Notre Dame de Namur 17-5 on Thursday evening (March 31) at Walker Field.

The first period was slow as each team traded shots but CMU would net the lone goal. For the rest of the half CMU would score five more and hold NDNU to only one goal.

The second half was owned by the CMU scoring 11 goals and holding the NDNU to only four goals.

The Mavericks owned the shots department, out shooting the Argos 52-30 with 34 of those shots coming on goal and only 15 of the Argonauts shots were on goal.

The Mavs won the ground ball battle out scooping the Argos 28-19.

Face-offs were even as the Mavericks edged out the Argonauts 14-11.

Colorado Mesa's man-down unit was strong killing off two of the three Notre Dame de Namur man-up attempts.

Extra man struggled for the Mavs as they were only able to convert on one of three trips to the field.

There were 13 Mavs with a point against the Argos. Five Mavs had two or more goals against the Argos.

Steve Brandenburg led Colorado Mesa in goals and points with five goals and five points on the night.

Zach Weaver started off the first half for the Mavericks making six saves and only allowing one goal.

Nikolas Lund-Murray and Remi Reeves split the second half. Lund-Murray made two saves and also allowed one goal. Reeves made two save and allowed 3 goals.

Colorado Mesa (3-4, 0-1) plays another home match on Friday (April 1) when they take on Rockhurst at Walker Field.
