Women's Lacrosse Wins First RMAC Game

Box Score KANSAS CITY, MO. – The Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse team earned its first RMAC win of the season after defeating Rockhurst 21-10 Saturday (March 19).

The Hawks jumped out to an early 4-0 lead but the Mavs recovered and ended the first half leading 9-7.

The second half was owned by the Mavs as they scored 12 goals and held the Hawks to only three.

Shots heavily favored the Mavs as they finished with a 47-20 lead.

The Mavs also won the ground ball battle against the Hawks 21-12.

The Mavs won a significant amount of draw controls, winning 28 compared to the Hawks five.

Jessica Cook led the Mavs in goals and points with six goals and seven points.

Kayla Lyall, Lydia Furrow and Ashley Eickhoff had five point games against the hawks. Furrow and Eickhoff both had hat tricks on the night.

Jillian Pfeifer started the game and allowed six goals against and made one save.

Kady Herzog came into relieve Pfeifer and made five saves and allowed four goals.

Colorado Mesa (5-2) will host Fort Lewis March 26.
