Box Score WINTER PARK, Fla – Colorado Mesa men's lacrosse dropped a close game to Rollins Saturday (March 19) 7-5.
 
The first three periods of the game were tight as both teams only scored one goal a period. However a solid first period gave the Mavs a one goal lead over the Tars 4-3.
 
The fourth period opened up for the Tars as they were able to score four goals and the Mavs were only able to score a goal once.
 
Shots were close as the Tars were able to barely out shoot the Mavericks 18-16.
 
Ground balls were also a tight battle as the Tars out scooped the Mavs 17-13.
 
Rollins was able to win the face off battle against the Mavericks winning 10 compared to the Mavericks six.
 
Colorado Mesa only had one penalty for two minutes and were able to successfully kill the penalty.
 
There were six Mavs with one point and four different goal scorers in the game.
 
Jake Douglas led Colorado Mesa with two goals on the day.
 
Connor Morgan and Douglas led the Mavs in points with two points each.
 
Zach Weaver was between the pipes and finished with 11 saves and seven goals against.
 
The Mavs are back in action Saturday (March 26) as they take on Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colo.
