Box Score SAINT LEO, Fla. - Colorado Mesa fell to No. 15 St. Leo Tuesday (Mar. 15) 9-7 after third period comeback.

The Mavericks struggled in the first half against the Lions only putting up two goals and allowed the lions to score seven.

Colorado Mesa was able to hold the Lions scoreless in the third and put up four goals of their own to bring the game within one. The Mavs were then able to tie the game in the start of the fourth.

Turnovers in the fourth aided to the Mavericks loss allowing the Lions to score two in the fourth to put the game away.

Shots on goal favored Colorado Mesa but only slightly as they outshot the Lions 28-25.

The Mavericks were dominated in face offs only winning six face offs compared to the Lions 14.

Groundballs were a near even battle with the Mavericks out scooping the Lions 22-21.

The Mavericks were perfect on the extra-man only going to the field once and were able to score on the one attempt.

Man-down for the Mavs were strong killing off two of the four penalties they faced.

Jack Griffin and Connor Morgan led the Mavericks with two goals on the night.

Zach Weaver started for Colorado Mesa allowing nine goals and made 16 saves on the night.

The Mavericks are back in action on Thursday (March 17) as they take on Florida Southern in Lakeland, Fla.
