ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team got a 7-2 win on the road against Dixie State Saturday morning (Feb. 20).

The Mavs came out strong by sweeping the Red Storm in doubles.

Frederikke Karst and Emily Dodson won 8-6 at No. 1 and Emily Beckley and Amy Beeston won 8-1 at No. 2. Katie Kirby and Katie Metz finished with an 8-2 win at No. 3.

Emily Beckley defeated Laura Hartle 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3, while Michelle Phillips got a 6-0, 6-0 win over Jenna Fosdick.

Amy Beeston and Taylor Hershey got wins at No. 5 and No.6.

The Mavericks will be on the road again when they play Glendale Community College, Arizona Christian and Mesa Community College on Feb. 26-27.
