Box Score DENTON, Texas – Colorado Mesa surrendered a second half goal and fell 1-0 in their season opener against Texas Woman's on Thursday evening at TWU Soccer Field.
After a see-saw battle in the first half, Colorado Mesa came out on the attack in the second half.
Colorado Mesa scored in the 49
th minute but was whistled on a close offsides call.

Bailey Zehr hit the crossbar on a shot and
Lauryn Lee followed up with a shot that was blocked. The scramble came off an
Amanda Wenzel corner kick.
Zehr finished the match with a team-leading four shots, three coming on goal.
The Pioneers scored the lone goal of the match in the 62
nd minute. Gabby Larson took a pass from Natalia Diaz in transition and scored for Texas Woman's.
Maverick freshman
Janelle Richmond-Buccola got the start in goal and made five saves in the loss.
Colorado Mesa will complete their opening weekend, Texas swing with a match against Midwestern State on Saturday in Wichita Falls at noon.
