LIVE STATSMatch Notes vs. Fort Lewis and Adams StateLAST WEEKENDColorado Mesa went 1-0-1 over the weekend, falling to Colorado Mines 2-0 on Friday afternoon before taking down Colorado Christian on Sunday 2-1. A pair of early goals doomed the Mavericks in their showdown with the Orediggers. Against Colorado Christian the Mavs fell behind 1-0 but came back and evened the match less then a minute later and scored the game-winning goal in the 81st minute on a goal from
Amanda Wenzel to give the Mavs their first goals of the season and first win of the season.
TWO GOALSThe Mavericks scored two goals in a match for the first time since September 4, 2014 when Colorado Mesa tied Midwestern State in Durango. That game was also the season opener and spans 22 matches.
BUCKING THE TRENDFort Lewis holds a 9-1-2 record against Colorado Mesa in the last 12 meetings between the two schools. The Mavericks won last year's meeting 1-0 at Walker Field which ended up being the Mavericks only win of the season.
SHUTOUT NO MOREWhen
Ashley Wallace scored the first goal of the season at the 5:57 mark of the match against Colorado Christian, that snapped a shutout streak that lasted 507:38 dating back to the second half of the match against Adams State in the season finale last season.
GOALKEEPINGFreshman
Janelle Richmond-Buccola has played every minute in net for the Mavericks this season. She picked up her first win of the season on Sunday and now has made 32 stops on the season and has a 1.45 goals against average this year.
POPE MOVES UP Senior
Sarah Pope moved up on the all-time assist list and now sits in a tie for eighth place. Pope assisted
Ashley Wallace for the game tying goal on Sunday against Colorado Christian. She now has 10 assists in her career.
COACHING STAFFThe Mavericks coaching staff remains the same as last season with head coach
Jason Clare entering his second season at the helm and third season in the program.

Kortney Rhoades enters her second year in the program as well.
RMAC PRESEASON POLLThe Mavericks were picked ninth in the preseason coaches poll after finishing in tenth place last season. Colorado Mesa was picked ahead of Adams State, Colorado Christian and RMAC newcomer Westminster. The top six teams qualify for the RMAC Tournament in November.
VIDEO STREAMINGColorado Mesa and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference have teamed up with Stretch Internet to provide video streaming for all home games this season. Video streaming will also be free this season. Find the link at CMUmavericks.com.

NEXT UPThe Mavericks will conclude their three match road trip on Wednesday against Westminster in Salt Lake City. Then, they will return home next weekend for a pair of matches against Regis and MSU Denver at Walker Field.
