COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa University men's tennis team posted a dominating 9-0 win in its season opener at Colorado College Friday (Sept. 12).
Jordan Lyden defeated Jason Gutierrez 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
Spencer Weinberg defeated Jack Burger in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
The duo teamed up for the win at No. 1 doubles defeating Gutierrez and Burger 8-1.

Andres Garcia-Rojas defeated Brian Chen and Taylor Delechanty 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
The final doubles win for the Mavericks was an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles by
Trevor Brown and
Duncan Alger over Casey Shaw and Jake Peterson.
Andres Garcia-Rojas also won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, over Rob Kasemodel at No. 3 singles.
Trevor Brown won at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-1, over Casey Shaw.
The Mavericks completed the sweep of the Tigers with a 6-1, 6-1 win by
Cody Freischlag at No. 5 singles and a 6-2, 6-4 win at. 6 singles by
Ben Schlichting.
CMU (1-0) will face Neb.-Kearney and Texas Permian Basin Saturday (Sept. 13).
