WEEKEND RECAP
Colorado Mesa finished the weekend 1-1 after defeating St. Edward's 2-0 in the season opener and losing to #13 Midwestern State 2-1 in double overtime.

Against St. Edward's, Roy Abergil and Alan Hernandez both netted goals while Micah Conrads and the defense came up with their first shutout in the win.

In the match against Midwestern State, Alan Hernandez netted his second goal of the season to give the Mavericks a 1-0 lead. The Mustangs came back with two unanswered goals including one in overtime to seal the win.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Junior defender Blake Carlson was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his play in the St. Edward's and Midwestern State matches. Carlson helped the Mavericks to a 0.91 goals against average.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Senior forward Alan Hernandez is quickly moving up the all-time charts. Hernandez has moved into third place on the all-time points chart and the all-time goals chart.

Junior Nestor Escobar is third on the all-time assist chart and is just two shy of tying Sam Dixon for second.

Goalkeeper Micah Conrads added to his shutout mark with his 13th career shutout against St. Edward's. He is the all-time leader.

ABERGIL'S ANTICS
Sophomore Roy Abergil scored his first collegiate goal in the Maverick's 2-0 win over St. Edward's. In his first weekend, Abergil finished with one goal on five shots with three coming on goal.

NSCAA REGIONAL POLL
The Mavericks were ranked seventh this week in the NSCAA Regional Poll. Texas A&M International is ranked first followed by Metro State, Fort Lewis and Midwestern State to round out the top four.
