Box Score 2 SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Colorado Mesa softball extended its winning streak to six after picking up a 3-1 over Chadron State and a 14-4 win at Black Hills State.
In the win over Chadron, Colorado Mesa collected seven hits, all singles, to score three runs.
Makayla Kovac led the Mavericks batting a perfect 3-for-3.
The Mavericks followed up with 16 hits, including three homeruns in the win over the Yellowjackets.
BHSU scored two runs in the first after Katie Compo hit a two-run homer.
The Mavericks took the lead in the top of the third after scoring six runs on five hits. The hot hitting continued for CMU the following inning.
Jessica Severinsen and
Rachel Boothe each homored as part of a six run inning for CMU.
The Maverick bats collected four more hits leading to three more runs in the fifth and final inning.
Jessica Severinsen collected six RBIs on 3-of-4 hitting.
Madelyn Schulz and
Sarah Phillis each collected three hits in the contest.
Ashley Pulido collected her ninth win of the season striking out six and giving up four runs on four hits.
CMU (25-17, 24-10) will finish the weekend Saturday (April 18) with rematches against Chadron State and Black Hills State.
