GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa men's tennis team closed out the RMAC regular season with an 8-1 win over CSU-Pueblo Thursday (April 17).
CMU started the match with a sweep of all three doubles matches.
Jordan Lyden and
Spencer Weinberg defeated Saul Shrom and Emir Marchado 8-2 at No. 1 doubles.
Lyden also picked up the win at No. 1 singles defeating Shrom 6-1, 6-2.
Weinberg picked up his second win of the day at No. 2 doubles defeating Marchado 7-5, 6-4.
Andres Garcia-Rojas won at No. 3 singles,
Cody Freischlag at No. 4 and
Duncan Alger at No. 6.
Pueblo's lone win came at No. 5 singles. Joao De Silveria defeated
Trevor Brown 7-5, 6-1.
CMU finishes the regular season 11-7 and 4-1 in the RMAC Tournament. The Mavericks are hosting the RMAC Tournament and enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed. CMU will face the winner of the Metro State and Colorado Christian match Friday (April 18) at 5 pm.
