DENVER –
Jordan Lyden improved to 14-4 at No. 1 singles this season after leading Colorado Mesa to a pair of wins against Montana State-Billings 8-1 and Metro State 5-4 Saturday (April 12).
Lyden defeated Brandon Beardsley of MSUB 6-3, 6-2. The St. George, Utah, native, who is ranked No. 28, defeated No. 39 Josh Graetz of Metro State in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.
Lyden also earned two wins at No. 1 doubles with
Spencer Weinberg. The duo defeated Beardsley and Josh Hedderig of MSUB 8-1, and Graetz and Adrien Delvaux of MSU 8-6.
"This was a great day of college tennis, and a pair of big RMAC wins," said head coach
Dan MacDonald. "Jordan and Spencer came through huge for us."
Weinberg won both his matches at No. 2 singles defeating Josh Hedderig of MSUB 6-3, 6-3, and Adrien Delvaux of MSU 6-2, 6-2.
Sunday's match at CSU-Pueblo was postponed due to weather with a make-up date rescheduled for April 17.
