Box Score 2 GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. –
Jessica Severinsen hit a walk-off two-run homerun to complete the two-game sweep of Colorado School of Mines Saturday (March 8). CMU improves to 6-8 overall and 5-3 in the RMAC after the pair of wins (9-1, 7-5).
Mines opened game two with a pair of runs in the first, but Mesa answered with a three-run homer by
Jo Bolyard in the second.
The Orediggers put three more runs across the plate in the third and fourth innings.
The Mavericks scored four runs, including Severinsen's blast, in the seventh for the win.
Makayla Kovac and
Jessica Severinsen each finished two-for-four at the plate with two RBIs.
Tawnee Woosley went 2-for-3 and
Jo Bolyard's three RBIs led the team.
Jessica Severinsen dominated from the mound in the first game allowing four hits in the 9-1 win for CMU.
The Mavericks got on the board early scoring three runs in the first and second innings. CMU added one run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to end the game early.
CMU finished with 13 hits, led by
Brooke Ortale who was a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBIs.

Sarah Phillis also finished with two hits.
Mesa and Mines will close out the four-game series with a doubleheader Sunday (March 9).
