Box Score 2 ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa softball team split its doubleheader at Adams State for the second straight day defeating the Grizzlies 2-1 in the first game and falling 9-1 in the series finale Sunday (March 23).
Jessica Severinsen got the win in game one giving up just one run on three hits.
The Mavericks scored its first run of the contest after 
Madelyn Schulz, who got on base with a single, scored on a double by Severinsen. Severinsen would account for the Mavericks second run, the game-winner, with a solo homerun, her ninth of the season, in the third.
The CMU bats struggled in the series final tallying just three hits and one run. ASU scored nine runs on 10 hits.
CMU kept it close early giving up just one run in the first. The Grizzlies exploded with four runs in both the third and fourth innings.
Mesa's lone run came in the fifth on a sack fly RBI by 
Makayla Kovac.
Mesa (14-10, 13-5) will host Regis and CSU-Pueblo March 29-30.
