OGDEN, Utah – The Colorado Mesa men's tennis team posted a pair of losses at Utah State (6-1) and Weber State (6-1) Saturday (Feb. 22).
Trevor Brown picked up the lone win at No. 6 singles over Matt Thatcher of Utah State 6-4, 6-3.
"Trevor grinded out a solid win at No. 6 singles," said head coach
Dan MacDonald. "He hit great passing shots."
Cody Freischlag was victorious at No. 4 singles over Utah State's Ryan Garner 7-5, 7-6 (4).
"Cody played great serve and volley tennis," said MacDonald. "He hit big returns on break points."
Blake Demond fell to James Smith in three sets 4-6, 7-6 (11), 10-3.
Trevor Brown also fell in three sets (3-6, 6-2, 6-4) to Dylan Hansel at No. 6 singles.
Mesa will play four matches in Phoenix March 14-15.
