Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's lacrosse team dug themselves an 11-3 halftime hole and couldn't recover in a 14-7 loss to the visiting Fort Lewis Skyhawks on Saturday afternoon at Walker Field.
After falling behind 11-3, the Mavericks outscored the Skyhawks in the second half 4-3. They outshot them as well 12-10 in the second half.
Hayley Kroll led the Mavericks with three goals on five shots. She also picked up two groundballs and caused one turnover.
Ashley Eickhoff,
Kayla Lyall, Rachel Sutton and
Zoe Aldous all scored a goal for Colorado Mesa as well.
Kady Herzog played the second half in goal and recorded five saves and a groundball pickup.
For the game, Fort Lewis outshot the Mavericks 25-18 including 15-6 in the first half and won more draw controls 15-8.
The Mavericks will be back in action on March 8 when they travel to Alamosa to battle the Adams State Grizzlies.
