Mavericks Move to 22-0 After 71-52 win over NMHU

Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The second ranked Colorado Mesa women's basketball extended their school record winning streak and home winning streak on Friday night by defeating the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls 71-52 in front of just over 1,000 fans in Brownson Arena.

The Mavericks have now won 33 consecutive home games dating back to the 2011-2012 season and have won their first 22 games this season.

CMU shot 46 percent (24-of-52) from the field while holding Highlands to just 32 percent (18-of-55) from the field and 44 percent (8-of-18) from the free-throw line. The Mavericks outrebounded the Cowgirls 43-32 and scored 15 second chance points to NMHU's 11.

Senior Sharaya Selsor led the way with a game-high 29 points, including 12-of-13 from the free-throw line. Selsor moves into the top ten on the all-time scoring list with 1,295 points (ninth place) moving ahead of Mandy Miller. She also dished out three assists, grabbed five rebounds and pulled in three steals.

Aubry Boehme added 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting.

New Mexico Highlands was led by Giulian Simioni's 10 points.

With a win tomorrow night, Colorado Mesa will have clinched at least a tie of the RMAC Championship game. A win and a CSU-Pueblo loss would give the Mavericks the outright title on Saturday night.

The Mavericks will play host to Western New Mexico tomorrow night in Brownson Arena. The tip is set for 5:30pm.
