Box Score DURANGO, Colo. – Free-throws proved to be the difference in Colorado Mesa's 52-50 win over the Fort Lewis Skyhawks on Saturday evening in Whalen Gynasium in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's basketball contest.
 
The Mavericks finished the night 15-for-21 (71.4 percent) from the line while the Skyhawks were 17-of-23 (74 percent) but a missed free-throw with eight seconds remaining in the game would have knotted the game at 51-51.
 
Colorado Mesa finished the night an abysmal 28.6 percent (16-of-56) from the field with Fort Lewis finishing at 27.6 percent (16-of-58) from the floor. Fort Lewis only converted one three-point basket while Colorado Mesa connected on five.
 
Erin Reichle led all scorers with 16 points and added three rebounds and two steals. Reichle was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
 
Leanndra Gilbert didnt make a field goal from the field but grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds in the game and finished with three points and two blocks.
 
Erika Musante finished with four points, four rebounds and four blocks.
 
Mary Brinton led the Skyhawks with 15 points and five rebounds while Lynette Hepa had seven points and nine rebounds
 
At the half, the two teams combined to shoot under 21 percent (11-for-53) in the half where Colorado Mesa held onto a 20-19 lead. Reichle led all scorers with seven points in the half.
 
The Mavericks will travel to Alamosa to conclude 2014 with a contest against Adams State at 3:00pm.
