RMAC Champions!Due in large part to its 15 game winning streak, Colorado Mesa volleyball was able to claim the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship over the weekend. It is the first time since 1994 that the Mavericks have won the RMAC Title.
Regional RankingsIn the most recent South Central Regional Poll, CMU sits at second, just behind MSU Denver. The first four teams in the rankings are RMAC teams. The upcoming conference tournament can play a major impact on how the final rankings play out. If the Mavericks become the top seed, they will host the regional tournament starting Nov. 20th.
Mavs Advance To Final FourIn front of 965 screaming fans, the No. 8 ranked Colorado Mesa volleyball team ran by the UCCS Mountain Lions Tuesday (Nov. 11) in an RMAC Tournament quarter final match by a score of 3-0. The Mavs started off a bit slow, winning the first set 27-25, before taking the final two sets in convincing fashion.
Melissa Hess led the way with a match-high 13 kills and .500 hitting percentage on the night.
Tiffany Petersen also had a game-high 22 digs.
Colorado Mesa Stays in Top-10For the second straight week CMU has found themselves ranked in the top-10 nationally when the AVCA Top-25 coaches poll placed them at eighth in Div II. This is the highest ranking in program history. Prior to the season, the Mavericks had never been ranked higher than No. 17 in the polls. Colorado Mesa had been steadily moving up in the national rankings throughout the season. The preseason poll had them receiving votes, and they have moved up every week since then.
Mavs Collect RMAC HonorsFor the second time in his career as Colorado Mesa volleyball head coach,
Dave Fleming has been awarded RMAC Coach of the Year.

Hess Named Player of Week
For the second week in a row and third time this season, senior middle blocker
Melissa Hess has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week. In the match against Fort Lewis Hess led the way recording 19.5 points on 15 kills, while hitting .455. Hess hit .455 with 13 kills against Adams State for a total of 28 kills on the weekend.
Undefeated at HomeFor the first time in over ten years, Colorado Mesa volleyball finished the regular season without a loss at home. The last regular season home loss for the Mavericks was Nov. 8, 2013 when they fell to Western New Mexico in four sets. CMU will look to stay undefeated at home when they host the Regis Rangers on Friday (Nov. 14) in the semifinals of the RMAC Tournament.
Statistical RankingsColorado Mesa ranks fifth in Div II and second in the RMAC in both assists per set (13.69) and kills per set (14.63). The Mavericks lead the conference in opposing hitting percentage, limiting teams to hit just .131 against them. CMU's .889 win-loss percentage is good enough for the 15th best in all of Div. II.
Jordyn Moody is sixth in Div. II in assists per set with 11.92.

Abby Ney are 32nd and 33rd in hitting percentage, both hitting .358 on the season.
Academic HonorsSenior setter
Jordyn Moody was named to the RMAC First Team All-Academic Team. Moody has a 3.73 grade point average in criminal justice and psychology.

Scouting RegisThis will be the third-match up of the season for these two teams with each team getting a win. Colorado Mesa fell in the first meeting in a heartbreaking five set game during the Colorado Premier Classic. When the Regis Rangers traveled to Grand Junction the next week to open RMAC play, the Mavs avenged their loss winning in three sets. Senior Gina Morgan and junior Catie Breaux are First Team All-RMAC selectees.
MSU Denver RoadrunnersThe only RMAC conference loss of the season for Colorado Mesa came in a five set loss to the Roadrunners (Sept. 25). The Roadrunners are currently the number one ranked team in the region. Lauren Quijano and Brandi Torr were named First Team All-RMAC members.
A Look at The OrederiggersCMU took down the now No. 4 team in straight sets earlier in the season (Sept. 26).
Audrey Steinkirchner hit .600 with 13 kills on the night. Junior setter, Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood, was named RMAC Player and Setter of the Year.
