Game Notes in PDFRegional Rankings
In the first week of the South Central regional rankings, the Colorado Mesa Mavericks are ranked second behind MSU Denver. The Roadrunners are the only team in the regions top eight that the Mavs have a loss against. The top four teams in the rankings are all RMAC teams. West Texas A&M is the five seed and CMU defeated them in straight sets at the start of the season.
A Look at Last Week
The Mavericks had a bit of an unconventional schedule this week when they welcomed South Dakota School of Mines to town in a non-conference midweek (Oct. 22) match up. After dropping the first set to the Hardrockers, Colorado Mesa rallied to take the next three and drop Mines 3-1. CMU got back to conference play when they took down CSU-Pueblo 3-0 on Friday (Oct. 24). The Mavericks finished their regular season home card with a sweep of Western State Colorado Saturday ( Oct. 25).
Winning Streak
Colorado Mesa's 11 consecutive wins this season is the first time CMU has won 10 or more straight matches in a season in head coach

Still Leading RMAC
With their two conference wins over the weekend, Colorado Mesa has kept pace with Colorado School of Mines and MSU Denver to stay in a three way tie for the top spot in the conference. Colorado School of Mines and MSU Denver will play each other in the final week of the regular season.
Undefeated at Home
For the first time in over ten years, Colorado Mesa volleyball finished the regular season without a loss at home. The last regular season home loss the Mavericks had was Nov. 8, 2013 when they fell to Western New Mexico in four sets.
Home Court Advantage
With their 3-0 win over CSU-Pueblo Friday (Oct. 24) the Mavericks clinched home court advantage for the first round of the RMAC Tournament. The match will be Tuesday Nov. 11th at 7 pm in Brownson Arena. Their opponent
is yet to be determined.
Mavs Move Up in Polls
Every week CMU has moved up in the Div II Top-25 Poll and this week is no different. They have jumped from number 14 to 13. On the season, the Mavs have beaten five teams that are in this weeks top-25 (Colorado School of Mines, Southwest Minnesota, Central Missouri, West Texas A&M and Truman). They have fallen to two teams in this weeks rankings (Concordia-St. Paul and MSU Denver).
Statistical Rankings
Colorado Mesa is fifth in Div. II and second in the RMAC in assists per set (13.75) and kills per set (14.68). Their .870 win-loss percentage is good for 15th best in Div. II and second best in the conference. With CMU has held opponents to a .137 hitting percentage, top in the RMAC.
Jordyn Moody is sixth in the nation and second in the RMAC is assists per set with 11.95. Tiffany Peterson is third in the conference digs per set (4.96), while
Abby Ney is also third in hitting percentage (.351).
A Look at the Cowgirls
With five matches remaining for New Mexico Highlands, they are fighting for that eighth and final RMAC tournament bid. Their 5-9 conference record has them in tenth place just behind Western New Mexico and Black Hills State. Colorado Mesa beat the Cowgirls is straight sets at home two weeks ago (Oct. 11).The Mavericks have dominated the Cowgirls with a 25-9 overall series record. The Mavericks last loss to the Cowgirls came Sept. 30, 2011 at Las Vegas.
Scouting Western New Mexico
The Mustangs 6-8 conference record has them sitting at ninth place,one spot shy of the final RMAC tournament spot. The tournament features the The Mustangs Heather Verrill was named last weeks RMAC Defensive Player of the Week. Colorado Mesa's 3-2 victory over Western New Mexico earlier in the season, gave CMU the 12-8 career advantage when the two teams match up. Western New Mexico was the only team to force a fifth game in a home match for the Mavericks. The Mustangs are riding a three game wining streak coming into the weekend.
