Box Score LAKEWOOD, Colo. – In a rematch of the RMAC Tournament Championship from a year ago,
Sharaya Selsor hit a running jumper at the buzzer to pick up a 67-65 win over the Colorado Christian Cougars at the CCU Events Center.
Selsor finished the night with 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. She shot 6-of-15 from the field but failed to make a three-point field goal for the first time this season but did go 9-of-9 from the free-throw line.
Sharaya also moved into 16
th place on the all-time scoring list, passing her sister Katrina who played with Colorado Mesa from 2010-2013.
Aubry Boehme picked up a double-double in 24 minutes of work. Boehme finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Mavericks dominated the boards once again, outrebounding Colorado Christian 52-31. The margin helped give CMU a 23-4 advantage on second chance points.
The one downside to the win is that the Mavericks tied a season-high with 21 turnovers
The score was all tied up at halftime 28-28.
Sharaya Selsor had eight points and three assists in the half while
Hanna Bowden provided solid minutes in the half. Bowden finished the half with four points and nine rebounds in 11 minutes of action.
The Mavericks shot 31 percent from the floor and failed to hit a three-pointer in the half for the first time this season. They also committed 13 first-half turnovers which led to nine Cougar points.
The Mavericks will take on the Colorado Mines Orediggers tomorrow night in Golden. The tip is set for 5:00pm.
