Box Score DENVER, Colo. – It took the fourth ranked Colorado Mesa women's basketball team overtime to hold off the Metro State Roadrunners 66-63 on Friday night at the Auraria Events Center. The Mavericks outscored Metro State in the overtime period 8-5 to seal the win.
Erin Reichle drilled a three just 23 seconds into the overtime period and never looked back.
Aubry Boehme led all scorers on the night with 17 points including four in the overtime period. Boehme had 11 points in the second half and finished with a season-high four blocks on the night.
The Mavericks shot 41.7 percent (25-of-60) from the field and 33.3 percent (6-of-18) from behind the three-point arc. They also held their opponent to less than 40 percent from the field for the 15
th time this season but were outrebounded for just the second time this season.
Sharaya Selsor finished the game with 15 points and
Taylor Rock finished with 13 points.
Metro State led by as many as eight in the first half with 2:25 to go while the Mavericks largest lead came early in the first half when they led by five with 16:32 to go in the half. There were 14 total lead changes in the game and six ties.
The Roadrunners were led by Tai Jensen who contributed 13 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
The Mavericks will close out the road trip with a game at Regis tomorrow at 3:00pm in the Regis Fieldhouse.
