The Colorado Mesa University Women's Lacrosse team took on the Lake Erie Strom in a non-conference match at Walker Field on Wednesday night. The Mavericks rally in the final 15 minutes of action fell short 14-13. CMU drops to 0-3 on the season while the Storm improve to 2-0.
The Mavericks trailed 14-8 with 12 minutes to play and went on a 5-0 run to pull within one goal with 5:21 to play. The Storm were able to win the draw control and stall out the final minutes of the match.
Allie Henderson led the Mavericks with four goals and two assists. Hendersen is coming off an injury and wasnt even going to play tonight but was cleared just before the match. The Junior won four draw controls and helped the Mavericks climb out of an early 4-1 hole.
Ashley Eickoff added a hat trick for Colorado Mesa on seven shots.
The Mavericks will be back in action on Saturday with WILA action. Colorado Mesa will take on the McKendree Bearcats at 1:00pm from Walker Field.
