The Colorado Mesa University men's lacrosse team traveled to Alamosa for a match against the Adams State Grizzlies in their lone matchup of the week. The Mavericks scored eight second half goals en route to an 11-6 win over the Grizzlies. Colorado Mesa improves their record to 4-3 on the season and 2-1 in WILA action while the Grizzlies drop to 1-5 and 0-1 in the WILA.

The Mavericks trailed 3-1 at one point in the first half but were able to knot the game at halftime 3-3 during a stretch where they scored seven unanswered goals. They also had a big advantage in groundballs 50-39 and faceoffs won 13-8.

Michael Beimford led the Mavericks offensively rcording a hat trick and assisted on another goal on eight shots taken. He also picked up four groundballs.

Kade Robinson also had two goals for Colorado Mesa.

Matt Landon had eight groundball pickups and won six faceoffs on 11 attempts.

Junior goalkeeper Brad Brandenburg picked up the win in goal. Brandenburg made seven saves and picked up seven groundballs.

The Mavericks will have a pair of crucial WILA home games this coming week. They will have a match against Notre Dame De Namur and WILA leader Dominican this week.
