Colorado Mesa (25-1, 21-1 RMAC) closed out the 2012-13 regular season beating Fort Lewis College 76-68 on Saturday night. The loss dropped the Skyhawks to 17-9, 16-6 in RMAC play.
Ft. Lewis led 37-32 at intermission shooting 45 percent from the floor, connecting on 6 of 13 from beyond the 3-point line. The Skyhawks led nearly the entire first half holding a 19-15 rebound advantage and hitting 7 of 9 from the foul line. CMU's Katrina Selsor had 13-first half points and Kelsey Sigl added 12 in the first 20-minutes of action.
CMU outscored the Ft. Lewis 44-31 in the second half, taking their first lead in the contest since the opening minutes, on two made free throws by Katrina Selsor at the 12:48 mark. CMU never trailed again as the Skyhawks tied the game twice but CMU finally pulled away with a 10-1 run for a 64-56 lead with 6:31 remaining in regulation.
Seniors Kelsey Sigl and Katrina Selsor each finished with 23 points on senior night. Selsor recorded a double-double, with a game-high 14 rebounds. Bruna Deichmann had 13 points off the bench and Sharaya Selsor had 10 points, five assists and four rebounds.
FLC was led by Kaile Magazzeni's 14 points.
CMU will prepare for first round of the RMAC post season tournament to begin on Tuesday. CMU will enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed and host the No. 8 seed Regis University at a time yet to be determined.
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference will announce the full tournament bracket late this evening.
