Andres Garcia-Rojas and Taylor Macres scored victories over visiting Cameron University at number 3 and 4 singles respectively on Sunday afternoon at the Elliott Tennis Center on the campus of Colorado Mesa University. CMU fell to the nationally ranked Aggies 7-2.
Cameron took an early 3-0 advantage coming out on top in the three doubles matches. Taylor Macres and Trevor Brown extended their opponents to the end before falling 8-6 at number three doubles.
In singles action Andres Garcia-Rojas defeated Jorge Gerosi in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) at number three singles. Taylor Macres won in three sets, 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 10-7, over Angelo Lencioni at number four singles. Macres won the third set super tie-break to give CMU its second point in the match.
Andres Hernandez fell in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 3-10, to Joao Fazendeiro at number six singles. Hernandez won the first set, dropped the second and fell 10-3 in a third set super tie-break.
CMU will host Dallas Baptist on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Elliott Tennis Center on the campus of CMU.
