Colorado Mesa men's tennis team fell to Division I Weber State 8-1 (7-0 DI scoring system) on Friday at Eagleridge Athletic Club in Salt Lake City, Utah. On Saturday CMU lost 9-0 (7-0 DI scoring system) in Logan, Utah.

Friday at Weber State the Mavs' No. 3 doubles team, Brason Hollabaugh and Trevor Brown, defeated Anthony Trabert and Dylan Hansel 8-6 for the lone victory over the Wildcats.

Jordan Lyden and Andres Garcia-Rojas fell 8-4 at No. 1 doubles and Andres Hernandez and Spencer Weinberg dropped their match at No. 2 doubles, 8-4. In Division I scoring, the team that wins 2 of the 3 doubles matches earns one team point. In Division II scoring, each doubles match is counted as one team point.

The Wildcats swept the singles action, edging out the Mavericks in several close matches. Freshman Spencer Weinberg fell in three sets at No. 2 singles. No. 4 Taylor Macres dropped his match in two close sets, 6-4, 7-6. No. 1 singles player, Jordan Lyden fell 6-2, 7-6 in a highly competitive match.

Saturday in Logan, Utah versus Utah State the Aggies rolled to a 7-0 victory.

In doubles action the team of Hollabaugh and Weinberg lost in a pro-set tie-break, 8-7. In singles action Trevor Brown lost in three sets at No. 6 singles, 6-7, 6-4, 10-8.

CMU will travel to Phoenix, AZ for a match up with Grand Canyon University on Friday, March 1.
